Team Expansion at Close Brothers

With several notable additions to their executive team, Close Brothers, is well on its way to becoming one of Cayman's top financial services companies. During the past year and a half, Close Brothers has introduced Jeff Arkley, Maxine Rawlins, Peter Huber and John Sutlic as members of their team, strengthening the company's presence in the financial sector.
"In order for our company to continue growing, it was imperative to obtain experienced and bright professionals in our key service areas," says Linburgh Martin, Managing Director of Close Brothers. "I believe we've done so with the expansion of our current team, and I'm very excited about what they will do for the future of this company."
Jeff Arkley joined the team in 2001 as the Director of Banking and Risk Management. He has over thirty years banking experience and has worked for HSBC and Royal Bank of Canada in the UK, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Jeff's wide experience covers the areas of general and private banking, trust and corporate, risk management, investment management and treasury. With effect from August 1, 2003, Jeff's role will change to Trust Director. Alana Julie, the banking manager will become the operational head of Close Bank (Cayman) Limited.
In August of 2002, after leaving Ernst & Young London as in-house tax attorney, Maxine Rawlins came to Close Brothers as Director of Business Development. She is responsible not only for new business development but also for providing in-house legal advice for the various departments. Maxine brings with her extensive sales and management experience and an ability to handle complex technical and commercial transactions.
Three months later in November of 2002, Peter Huber was recruited as Chief Investment Officer of the Investment Advisory business. A Chartered Accountant and holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, Peter left his private wealth management firm in Canada to join the Close Brothers team. He has broad experience in portfolio management and financial planning for institutional as well as private client investors.
In April of this year, John Sutlic joined the executive team as CFO and Head of Fund Services. He brings with him experience in operational finance, strategic planning and offshore fund administration. A Chartered Accountant, John's most recent posting was that of Financial Controller for a bank and trust and asset management company in Cayman. Prior to that he spent six years with a major fund administrator.
