Golf tournament to benefit Mentoring Programme
The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce has again teamed up with RE/MAX Cayman Islands in hosting its annual golf tournament to be held on Friday 13 June at The Links at Safehaven.
The proceeds of the tournament will again benefit the National Mentoring Programme. This past year, 50 students participated in the programme, visiting their mentors at their workplace once a month for the day to experience the working environment. The goal this year is to increase participation and possibly include Cayman Brac High School students.
The Chamber hopes to attract more than 120 golfers to the event, which is open to players of all levels. The tournament is meant to be a lot of fun for all involved, while at the same time raising funds for the aspiring and high-achieving youth of the Cayman Islands.
For the past four years, this tournament has built a reputation that makes both businesses and players look forward to it on their calendar.
The format is a four-person scramble with handicap and a shotgun start at 1:00pm. The fee is $99 per player, which includes the award buffet afterwards, as well as numerous gifts from corporate sponsors, and the opportunity to win a new car sponsored by Car City Ltd.
Golfers wishing to participate can register online at www.caymanchamber.ky or pick up a registration flyer from any of the three golf courses on island.
Sponsorships at various levels are also being sought from local business. Those interested can contact the Chamber of Commerce at 949-8090.
