A Voter's appeal
Dear Sir,
Through your well read newspaper, I am askingthose who are sponsoring the amount of untruth being spread inthis election, to stop telling lies on the politicians who havedone so much good for the people of this island.
They would have done more had they been given a chance. If wehad more in the House like those they talk about, we would nothave to change the MLAs so often.
This is for those who are spreading the lies. How awful for youto go on television and talk about that good man when the publicknows how much he has done and is still doing? You or any of therest that are talking and trying to let him down by telling liesshould get down on your knees and thank God for those who standup for the good of this island.
We have some good people running for election, but for those whothink they know it all, we know that some of them would not knowhow to take care of one family, much less take care of all thepeople of these islands
You good sensible people of these islands, do not listen to thosewho believe in getting on the radio or the television all thetime. Do not let any of them blind-fold or Tom-fool you. Why allthese years these people did not go on radio or TV if they sawthat things were not going the way it should have been? Why waituntil they are running for election to talk? I wonder if that'sthe way they are going to represent us if they win?
I would like for all of the people of this island to pray, listenand think wisely before putting their 'X' down on November 8.Vote for those you believe would do good for these islands; notfor those who get out and say all kinds of things and act likethey are the only ones that have done anything for these islands.
I don't blame some politicians for answering those who say allkinds of things about them, because if someone called you a thiefor said anything bad about you and you kept your mouth shut anddidn't speak up for yourself, people would say you are guilty.Take advice from an old lady; speak for your rights and don'tcriticise and tell lies on anyone.
Why aren't they talking about those other people who just spendour money like it were raining down? Why is all this money beingspent on roads now and poor people that need good roads to theirhomes have to creep through rocky roads or spend thousands ofdollars to get a road?
Poor people need help to get to their homes, not only a lot ofunnecessary asphalt on public roads for careless people to speedon.
