Once a week is not enough
Cayman Net News begins today a second weeklyedition, taking our publication to twice weekly - Tuesdays andThursdays. This inaugural issue of the Tuesday edition is themanifestation of a bold initiative and a commitment we made toprovide news and information on "All Things Caymanian"to the people of these islands.
That it comes a mere nine months after our first weekly printedition may surprise some. For us, however, it is a culminationof a process of planning and hard work over the period to fulfillour mission.
This is also a cause for gratification appearing as it does ata time when this nation enters a new era with the General Electionof Wednesday 8 November.
Even more so, the advent of this second issue is testament tothe unstinting support of our readers, subscribers and advertisersand many in the community whose criticisms and comments have keptus focused and helped us to improve the publication. We are gratefulto all of them.
We have been fearless, and fair in our coverage because we believethat at this stage in the development of the Cayman Islands, timelyand accurate news and sound, analytical information about theissues that affect us, are critical to the continued progressof these islands and to our understanding of our place as a majorplayer on the world stage in finance and tourism - the pillarsof our economy.
In this first Tuesday issue and subsequent editions, our readerswill find the same adherence to quality journalism and an outletfor their views and commentary as they have come to expect fromthe Thursday edition.
We bring yet another innovation. We have added a "CorporateCaymanian of the Week" profile on the front page, to showcasethose among us who may have been transplanted here but whose exampleand efforts - professional, business, and community service -are a boon to the society and worthy of emulation. We believethat this is a worthwhile complement to our "Caymanian ofthe Week" feature.
Ultimately, you, dear readers are the judge of the effectivenessof our efforts.
Keep your feedback coming.
