NewProgramme Manager for National Trust

Miss Satina DaCosta isthe new historic Programmes Manager of the National Trust. Shejoined the Trust in August of this year as the Historic ProgrammesOfficer, predominantly responsible for educational component ofthe programmes. However, she was immediately considered for apromotion with departure of Mrs. Sonya Carlesso-Ebanks, the Trust'sHistoric Programmes Manager of four and a half years. About herpromotion she comments, "Our built heritage stands as tangibleevidence of Caymanian history - it tells us a story. I am passionateabout preserving these places and I am very happy to be part ofan organisation that makes this possible for me to do so. I wantto educate the public and instil pride in our built heritage.These structures are not just 'old buildings', they are nationaltreasures."
Inspired from a young age, by her grandmother in particular, tolearn about her roots, this young Caymanian developed an earnestpassion for history and a genuine pride for Cayman's heritage."I could sit for hours listening to my grandmother talk abouther childhood," explains Miss Satina DaCosta. "She iscertainly responsible for teaching me the value of history's lessonsand it is because of her indoctrination that I am now empoweredby my understanding of our past."
Victory Tabnernacle
The Annual Convention ofthe Church of God Prophecy, Victory Tabernacle begins 29 Novemberand runs nightly from 6:30 pm until 2 December on the church grounds,Eastern Avenue, George Town.
Guest speakers are National Overseer, Bishop Clayton Martin; BishopOswill Williams; Bishop Bryce Thompson; and Bishop Enoch Cornwall.
Stem Cell Research Lecture
The Medical Aspects of StemCell Research and Human Cloning will be the subject of a publiclecture to be delivered by Dr Courtney Cummings at the Agape FamilyWorship Centre Thursday, 22 November.
The presentation begins at 7:30 pm and is being made on behalfof Community Health Services.
"The topic is a timely one, and it involves many ethicalconsiderations. My lecture would be limited to the medical aspectsof stem cell and human cloning. Before ethics can be decided,a person needs a basic understanding of the topic. I believe thatthis lecture could help in this way," Dr Cummings said.
British Citizenship andOverseas Territories
Owing to the level of demandfor the Foreign and Commonwealth Office brochure 'What does BritishCitizenship Mean for the Overseas Territories Citizen?' many ofthe locations which had copies have run out.
Government Information Service is advising members of the publicthat additional copies have been ordered from FCO and should arrivewithin the next few weeks.

Vision Women's Conference
Vision Miracle Church ofGod holds a two-day Local Women's Conference from Thursday, 22November, from 6pm.

Chamber Training Seminar
The Chamber of CommerceProfessional Development and Training Centre is offering a seminarentitled 'Advanced Writing and Gram-mar' on 28 November and 5December.
This Workshop consists of two half-day sessions and begins at9am and concludes at 1pm each day. The sessions will be held inthe conference room of the Chamber offices at Macdonald Square.
