The PiratesWeek Festivities Go On
While bad weather from Hurricane Michellewashed out or delayed parts of Pirates Week the show will go onin West Bay, North Side and at the Prep School Field where theChildren's Fun Fair Day takes place.
Better late than never. That's the viewat the Pirates Week and District Heritage Day Committees.
The West Bay District Heritage Day is Thursday,22 November, from noon until 2 am. Those who wish to enjoy someWest Bay cooking can drop in for lunch without an admission charge.
After 3 pm there is an admission chargeof $5 with children under 12 admitted free. Radio Cayman willbe broadcasting from the gate and some people will get the chanceto answer one of their questions and get in free.
Entertainment includes three local bandsperforming throughout the day. For all those paying admissionthere's the chance to win a great gate prize of a Cayman Airwayticket to any CAL destination.
On Friday, 23 November, North Side hosttheir District Day. Located at the Kaibo this is a great placeto enjoy a seaside Heritage Day.
Traditional North Side food is availablefor lunch. Gates open at noon with free admission until 4 pm whena $5 admission is charged. Children under 12 are admitted freeand will be able to enjoy the bouncing castle. Music will comefrom Burmon Scott and his Los Tropicanos band. North Side hasa fabulous gate prize of a weekend for two in Little Cayman.
The ever-popular Children's Fun Fair ison for Sunday, 25 November, at the Prep School Field on WalkersRoad.
Sponsored by the Foster Group, CITN/WestStarand FujiFilm the Fun Fair will be in full swing even if it wasdelayed. The Fancy Dress Competition will take place and any kindof fancy dress is eligible not just pirate costumes. The beautifulbaby contest will also take place as usual. Prizes for the Children'sArt Competition will be awarded at the Fun Fair. Every kid wantsa bike and there are five great bicycles to be given away courtesyof GEL Wholesale, Barclay's Bank, and Kirk Home Centre.
For the golfers, the Bacardi Golf Tournamentis now scheduled for Sunday, 16 December, on the Links at Safehaven.
