Company toPromote Classical Music

Cayman Classical Performances, a not-for-profitcompany, has been formed to promote classical music in the CaymanIslands, through live performances of internationally acclaimed,world-class classical musicians and artistes, and thereby to raisefunds for a variety of local arts-oriented charities.
The company's goal is also to encourageand facilitate development and growth of classical music, danceand movement arts in all their aspects in the Cayman Islands.
The founding members and directors of CaymanClassical Performances are Richard Coles, Suzan Merren, Neil Rooney,Sharon Roulstone and Caroline Williams.
The directors, who are themselves loversof classical music and the performing arts, have been motivatedto this altruistic end through the example of the late StanleyPanton, who was devoted to hosting classical performances foraudiences in the Cayman Islands, and cherished the hope that theseendeavours would be carried on for as long as possible.
As a first step, Cayman Classical Performanceswill next month host the critically acclaimed piano duo from theUK, Jennifer Micallef and Glen Inanga, in two evenings of brilliantpiano music, featuring the works of great masters such as Mozartand Rachmaninov.
The concerts will be held on 7th and 8thDecember at First Baptist Church, Crewe Road. The first eveningwill be a gala performance, with a reception at The BrasserieRestaurant, Cricket Square, following the concert. The secondevening's performance is open to all students, with a minimalticket charge of $5.00
"We hope that the Micallef-Inanga concertswill be well attended, as the directors would like to encouragethe patronage of the performing arts in the Cayman Islands. Furthermore,we hope that the classical pieces presented at the December concertsand future productions will inspire talented Caymanians to pursuetheir dreams to perform on the world stage," Ms. Merren said.
