(l-r) President of Cayman National Bank, Mr. David McConney; Chair of the National Quincentennial Committee, Mr. Ezzard Miller; Minister for Culture, the Hon. Roy Bodden; Executive Director of the QCO, Mrs. Angela Martins; Wall of History Artist, John Broad; Assistant to the Artist, Grace Wright; Director of the National Gallery, Leslie Bigelman; and Assistant to the Artist, Hermes Solomon-Hydes.

Plans for Phase Two of Quincentennial Square - the Wall of History - were un-veiled today.

The Wall of History, which will be located alongside the Court House in downtown George Town, will serve as a visual display of the Cayman Islands' history over the past 500 years.

Funding for the wall has been provided by Cayman National Corporation.

The wall will be divided into five sections. The first will contain historical dates and milestones in the country's history, the next three will be a mural made out of 500 ceramic tiles.

The artist chosen for the mural is Mr. John Broad with assistance from Ms. Grace Wright and Hermes Solomon-Hydes.

Each tile will contain a date ranging from 1503 to 2003. Additional funds for this project will come from individuals or companies sponsoring one of these tiles at a cost of $100 per tile. The final section of the wall will bear the names all those who have sponsored a tile.
