Cayman's Investment Bureau for London

Mrs. Jennifer Dilbert, Cayman Islands' Government Representative in the UK, with Mr. Anthony Travers OBE of Maples & Calder Europe, who will be speaking at the Investment Bureau launch.

Following the Constitution talks which take place in London 9 11 of December, the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau in the UK will be opened on 12 December by the Leader of Government Business, The Hon Mr McKeeva Bush and senior representatives from the Cayman government.

The Bureau will be located within the existing London offices in Arlington Street, central London and will facilitate inward investment to Cayman from all sectors of international business.

The opening will take the form of a seminar entitled "The Cayman Islands: Business at its best" and will include contributions from leading legal, financial, business, cultural and sporting personalities. Members of Parliament and senior representatives of UK business have been invited, including Mr Anthony Travers OBE of Maples and Calder Europe, Chairman of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange, who will be speaking on Cayman's legal and financial services.

Cayman's UK Representative Jennifer Dilbert said: "The opening of the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau in London will play a major role in bringing further inward investment into Cayman. At the same time we will be launching a new group called Friends of the Cayman Islands in UK and already a number of significant British business people have agreed to join".

The Friends of Cayman in UK is a new forum comprising people who have a strong commercial association, knowledge and interest in the Cayman Islands. The Friends are intended to compliment the existing All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Cayman Islands and support the new London branch of the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau. They will support and encourage the future commercial development of Cayman and assist the projection of its business face as a viable, attractive and profitable location for business and investment.

The Cayman Islands Representative's office in London has been pro-active in further strengthening business and political links with UK and Europe and has enlisted the support of awarding-winning British PR firm "hatch-group public affairs" to support the promotion of Cayman in UK and Europe.

The opening of the new Investment Bureau in London and the launch of the Friends of the Cayman Islands will be a further boost to the already successful work being carried out by the staff of the UK Representative's Office.
