Harold Davis places fifth in San Salvador
Last Sunday saw Cayman Islands' Karate-do team member, Harold Davis, advancing to the fials in the Men's Individual Kata in San Salvador.
However, Davis was not able to complete the eliminations in the finals due to a knee injury sustained during the execution of a 360 degree spinning jump in one of his forms. As a result he placed fifth. The form was Kanku Dai, which was his third form of the competition.
Despite a dislocted knee, Harold completed his Kata. This true spirit of Karate-do had the stadium on its feet, cheering, and clapping in respect of a true Karateka.
Achieving fifth place has qualified Harold for the Pan American championships in Venezuela, where the top five winners of the CAC games will advance.
Harold was immediately attended to by the medics.
He was the only team member to compete in Kata.
