Chaplain "Hurt" bynon-renewal of his contract - after being cleared by Police
The request for a renewal of his contractof employment with the Prison Service has been denied, accordingto Mr. Peter van der Bol, former Chaplain at H. M. Northward Prison,who was sent on paid leave five months ago.
The Chaplain was cleared by the Commissioner of Police of criminalcharges following the decision to remove him from his duties dueto allegations of a series of 'irregularities'.
He had three other contracts prior to this latest request overa five year period.
"I am hurt by this action", said Mr. Van der Bol, "Ihave not heard from anyone over these past five months, and nowI am told that they will not renew my contact which ends in December."
Mr. van de Bol was officially informed that his contract wouldnot be renewed in a letter dated 10th October from GovernmentAdminstration's Personnel Department.
"I will be traveling to the (United) States shortly to beinterviewd for two job possibilities," he revealed when contactedat his home, "I love the Ministry, and will continue to servethose who are troubled and need me."
