Polling of Grand Cayman's VotingPopulation

The voting population of Grand Cayman wassurveyed over the course of September 2000 about election yearissues and the results of the survey was released to the localmedia, Tuesday, 10 October.

The survey was conducted over the telephone, calling numbers atrandom, and resulted in interviews with 401 Caymanian voters.
The survey was conducted by The Resource Centre, a small consultingfirm in Grand Cayman, on behalf of a local client.

Survey Introduction
This survey was conducted by The Resource Centre, a Cayman company,over the course of September 2000. The questions asked and thepercentage results are detailed on page 2.
Methodology
The survey was conducted over the telephone. A set of Cayman telephonenumbers was randomized and numbers called until the sample sizegoal of 400 completed surveys was met.
Sampling Error
With a final sample size of 401, the results set carries a samplingerror of ±4.9% at the 95% confidence level. Briefly, thismeans that each result in the sample can be generalized to thegeneral population with an accuracy of ±4.9%.

Example:The sample show that 24.7% of the people interviewed either "Approve"or "Approve Strongly" of the job the current governmentis doing. This can be extrapolated to say that the number of voterson the island who approve is between 19.8% and 28.6%.
