Sports Personof the Week

Ian Lindo
Ian Lindo so loves to be in athletics for the sake of playingthat unlike most people he has to think awhile before recallingthe number of times he came out tops or represented his country, just that he played.
But he keeps on coming out front and last week added CIFA Footballerof the Month title to his many achievements.
Ian was associated with excellence in sport since school, emergingInter-Island Primary School Champion for three years then goingon to represent the Cayman Islands in Track and Field from 1995to 1998. He says his favourite events are 200 and 400 metres, long jump and relays.
In spite of the track events Ian was playing football since agesix and has moved from representing the country at the Under-17level to being a member of the senior national team.
He thinks Cayman football is on its way up, pointing out thatthis nation has younger players than other regional teams anddid not lose a game in the Copa Caribe championship played inMartinique in April.
"We're only going to get better because with our trainingprogramme everybody is improving," he says.
