Afghans inCayman sincerity doubted
Dear Sir
I doubt that I was the only person who noticedthat the profiles and characters of the three Afghan men interviewedby your newspaper are identical to those of the suicide pilotsof September 11th in the United States.
We must realise that Afghan men, especially those in the Taliban, are trained in a certain way from the time they can walk or talk, and still portray themselves as the nicest people you could everwish to meet.
I would never make a 'judgment' on these men (which is differentto being suspicious especially in light of the untruths from thevery beginning), and I very much have sympathy for any personwho is persecuted, but do they really expect us to think thatthey will admit that they are associated with bin Laden (quiterightly the most hated man in the world), or to being involvedwith the Taliban even if they were?
I only say this so that we do not let our guard down. As muchas I love your newspaper for its openness and support of freespeech, I am no wiser now, nor do I feel any safer or satisfiedwith the situation concerning these Afghan men than I was beforeyour world exclusive interview with them.
