Western Union's Super Cup 2000to be played at home

A press conference to launch the secondAnnual Western Union Super Cup 2000 football tournament was heldon Monday August 14th.
Mr. Jeff Webb, President of the Cayman Islands Football Association,announced that three teams will compete in the tournament, whichwill be held from September 27th to October 1st at the TrumanBodden Sports Complex.
The event will be sponsored by Western Union and supported byBritish American Bank and Grace Kennedy Remittance Services ofJamaica. Competitors in the event will be the Turks and CaicosIslands National Football Team, the Jamaican Premier League ChampionHarbour View Football Club, and the host and defending championCayman Islands National Football team.
Cayman's own National Team has promised to come out fighting todefend their title and are hoping for strong support from thehome crowd.
Addressing the press were: Mr. Webb, President of the Cayman IslandsFootball Association (CIFA) and general manager for Western Union,as well as comments by Mr. Leonard Ebanks - CEO of British AmericanBank, and Mr. Michael Makin, Vice President for Operations ofBritish American Bank.
Ms. Suzanne Mena, Regional Marketing Director for Western Union,and Mr. Garfield Comrie of Grace Kennedy Remittance Services ofJamaica, were also present pledging their support for the tournament.
The stakes at this year's tournament are high for the players- the winners not only take home the trophy but also US$10,000in cash. The second and third place teams take home US $5,000and $2,500 respectively. All games in the tournament will endin victory; if necessary, sudden death and/or penalty kicks willbe employed to settle any ties.
The scheduled dates for the tournament are: September 27 - Caymanv. Turks and Caicos September 29 - Turks and Caicos v. HarborView October 1 - Harbor View v. Cayman
All games will begin at 7:30 p.m.
