CUC Bans Political Signs onUtility Polls
With the November elections less than threemonths away, Caribbean Utilities Company, (CUC) is enforcing itsstance on the hanging of campaign posters and advertisements onlocal utility polls.
In recent communication, CUC explained thatits utility polls are protected by law and that the attachmentof any material to the polls is prohibited. The Company went onto explain that forbidden materials included signs and posters,wires, antennas, cables, and associated fittings.
Several of CUC's utility polls on the Islandhave been used recently and in the past to display campaign postersand political advertisements. Due to the potential safety hazardto CUC personnel and the public, the Company has ordered thatall such material be taken down immediately.
CUC further states that its personnel willbe entitled at all times to remove any unauthorized material andis not responsible for any damage caused in connection with theremoval of such material
