Its Official ... Kurt Tibbetspicks a New Running Mate for November - Attorney-at-Law AldenMcLaughlin
Incumbent George Town MLA, Kurt Tibbettsand Attorney-at-Law Alden McLaughlin have declared their jointcandidacy for the District of George Town in the upcoming GeneralElection.
This announcement confirms Cayman Net News' report in its latest newspaper edition that therewas a split between fellow George Town MLA, Linford Pierson.
In making the announcements, Mr. Kurt Tibbettssaid that he is extremely pleased to have Mr. McLaughlin joinhim as his running -mate and looks forward to a positive campaign."I believe", said Mr. Tibbetts, "that this electionwill be won on issues and I have every confidence that duringthe upcoming months Mr. McLaughlin and I will demonstrate to theelectorate our ability to deal effectively with those issues andpropose sensible solutions."
Mr. Tibbetts, 46, was first elected to theAssembly in 1992 and was returned as First Elected Member forthe District of George Town in 1996. He is married to Shirley-Annand the couple have three children.
Mr. McLaughlin, 39, is a partner in thelaw firm Charles Adams, Ritchie and Duckworth and is currentlyin his second term as President of the Caymanian Bar Association.He and his wife, Kim, are parents of two sons.
