Chamber's Expo Postponedto October
The 11th Annual Chamber of Commerce BusinessExpo has been rescheduled for October 10th, 11th and 12th. Thedecision to postpone the event was in the interest of the safetyand security of the numerous visitors expected to attend Expo2002, as well as more than 65 exhibiting businesses, since TropicalStorm Isidore continued to pose a threat to Cayman at that time.
The event will kick off on Thursday, October10th, with a "Chamber members and their guests" OpeningCeremony. Exhibitors have received invitations that they can distributeto select customers and clients for the Thursday evening celebration,which will be catered by the Cayman Islands Culinary Society andCayman Distributors. The St. Ignatius steel band will providethe entertainment, and booth awards will be given that night.
The Expo will be open to the public fromnoon until 9:00pm on Friday, October 11th and 10:00am to 4:00pmon Saturday, October 12th. A special fashion show featuring CaymanIslands' unique label, Manika Fashion Line, will take place atnoon on Saturday, and special demonstration will delight the visitorsat 2pm that same day.
Parents will be happy to know that a separatechildren's area is being organized for the first time for Saturdayafternoon, courtesy of Foster's Food Fair, to make it easier forbusiness to be conducted on the Exhibition Hall floor.
"We are looking forward to a greatturnout for Expo 2002," stated Gary Rankin, Expo Task ForceChairman.
"Everyone is invited to explore themany exhibition booths with their Christmas shopping lists inmind."
