The love Mr. George Johnson feels for cricketbegan 14 years ago. "My classmates back in Jamaica all played(cricket) and they encouraged me to play too. So I did, and Ijust loved it!" he says smiling.
Two Sundays ago, Mr. Johnson received atrophy for knocking down most wickets during the National Trust'sCricket Tournament. "I love playing, and I'm going to keepplaying," he says.
When he is not on the field, Mr. Johnsoncan be found at the George Town hospital, where he works as asupply clerk. "I love my job. Not only do I get to interactwith different people, but I learn about different (medication)and what they are for," he adds enthusiastically.
Mr. Johnson is married to Naudia, and thecouple has a seven-year-old daughter Georgian. "It is importantto have kids involved in sports, to keep them active and out oftrouble. But you have to let the child choose what they want,because if you force them into (something) they'll never good,"he explains.
