UK Says No Direct Rule

Though the UK has said it will force the Cayman Islands’ compliance to the European Union’s Savings Tax Directive, the Governor’s Office here said on Wednesday that Britain has no intention of imposing direct rule over this country. “There is no question (possibility) that constitutional government in the Cayman Islands will be suspended and direct rule from Britain imposed,” said the Governor’s Staff Officer...  read more...
