CAL grows in Cuba

Cayman Airways (CAL) shifted its airport operations in Havana, Cuba over to Terminal Three at the Jose Marti International Airport beginning last Sunday in a move that could have long-term tourism benefits to the airline and Cayman Islands tourism.  Terminal Three, a newer and more modern facility from where most international flights arrive and depart, will offer Cayman Airways passengers a more pleasant environment... read more...

Dorothy Bodden Passes Away

Dorothy Mae Bodden (nee Foreman), former wife of Cayman's first National Hero, James 'Mr Jim' Bodden, died in her sleep on Monday morning at home in Lower Valley at the age of 74.  Known affectionately as 'Dot,' Mrs Bodden was born in Kaplan, Louisiana. She met and married Mr Jim in 1950 while he was living in the United States. The couple, along with their two children, moved to Cayman in 1962... read more...


Red Bay church holds fundraising funfair

Red Bay Church of God (Holiness) staged a fund-raising funfair on Saturday, 27 March, on the ground surrounding the church hall, in George Town. Auditor raised concerns in 2001 about Parmalat's Cayman subsidiary

An auditor at Deloitte's offices in Brazil raised concerns about a Cayman Islands-registered Parmalat subsidiary nearly three years before the dairy conglomerate collapsed, according to the Wall Street Journal. The year 2001 was a good one for Sanjay Datta. That was the year he married his sweetheart, Sreya, moved to the Cayman Islands from India and began working at Caribbean Publishing as a Senior Accountant.
