Church of South India Bishop Visits Cayman Islands

Bishop of the Church of South India (CSI) from the diocese of Bangalore, Rev
Vasatha Kumar, visited the Cayman Islands to speak with leaders of United
Church of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (UCJCI) on Tuesday, 27 April.
Bishop Kumar was on his way back from a convocation ceremony that took place
in Jamaica, when he stopped in Cayman to take the opportunity to discuss

Jailed Cubans await arrangements for repatriation
Two groups of Cuban nationals that landed here recently in
East End and Cayman Brac are now awaiting the Cayman Islands Government’s
decision of their future. Jeannie Lewis, the Assistant Chief Immigration
Officer in the Enforcement Division reported, “There remain twenty-three
Cubans in Northward Prison and a mother and two children in a private
setting.” ...

Person of the Day - Olive
Miller
Almost
50 years on the island and still giving – that is Olive Miller. Born in
the town of Rayleigh, in Essex, England, she first arrived in the Cayman
Islands as a missionary with the Church of Scotland in 1946. Returning
in 1958, she eventually married a Caymanian and raised her children here.
Since that time she has been very active on the Island, fulfilling her love
for performing social work...
