Treasure Island Creditors Miffed
Creditors
of the Treasure Island Resort, now in receivership, expressed their
dissatisfaction with the Scotiabank’s handling of the hotel’s debts at a
meeting at the Comfort Suites on Monday. Roughly twenty-five creditors
attended the gathering, hearing comments first from Tony Allenbrand of MTM
Ltd, Kevin Hayes, representing Mike’s Ice, BBC, and Celebrations, and Nick

Cable & Wireless Is Told To Raise Rates Again
Following
a recent review, the Information & Communications Technology Authority (ICTA)
issued a press release on Tuesday that Cable & Wireless must raise the rates for
its postpaid mobile services because they are below cost. The ICTA made a
similar ruling in April for the same reason, but Digicel requested a

& Wireless (C&W) responded to the Information and Communications Technology
Authority’s (ICTA) press release on Tuesday by saying it was very disappointed

Dramatic increase in 2004 burglary figures
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has revealed that there has been an
11.7 percent increase in reported burglaries since last year. Statistics
released by the police force showed from January to the end of April of this
year, there were 210 burglaries, compared to 188 last year...

GED exam date for pupils
The GED Examination will be returning to the Cayman Islands
on July 15 and 16, when students wishing to earn a high school equivalency
diploma take the exam at Triple C School. The exam is to be completed over
two days, and those registering for the exam will have to be present for each

in Trinidad, Kimberly Huggins moved to Grand Cayman with her family when she
was two years old. She is currently back home for the summer having
finished her first year at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where she
