Business staffing applications lag
With
the deadline for submitting Business Staffing Plans only five months away,
more than half of the estimated 145 businesses in the Cayman Islands that are
mandated under law to file the Plans have yet to do so. Under the new
Immigration Law regulations that went into effect this year, all companies
that employ 15 or more work permit holders must submit Business Staffing Plans
by 1 January 2005...

New Fire Truck Here
The
Fire Services Department received a new $430,000 fire truck this month for use
at Owen Roberts International Airport. The Oshkosh T-3000 truck brings
the airport’s fire coverage in line with International Civil Aviation
Organization (CAO) standards that come into place in January of 2005.
The truck exceeds the CAO standard that requires it to go from zero to 50 in
40 seconds and maintain a top speed of 62 mph...

Consultant offers assistance completing Business Staffing Plan submissions
For
some local companies employing 15 or more work permit holders, the thought of
filing the mandated Business Staffing Plan by the 1 January, 2005 deadline is
