Two
convicted criminals are still on the run after escaping from Northward prison
facility in the wake of Hurricane Ivan last month. Steve Manderson of West Bay
Road was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison and Jeffrey
Barnes of George Town who was convicted of rape, both made a dash for freedom
just after 7:00 pm on the evening of 14 September...

Amnesty Announced by Immigration for Illegal Aliens
Illegal
aliens have been given a window of opportunity to avoid prosecution by the
Department of Immigration. Anybody residing and working illegally in the
Cayman Islands will be allowed to leave the territory between 18 October and 1
November without fear of prosecution. Mr Franz Manderson, Chief
Immigration Officer said: “We normally offer an amnesty every five years or

offices may be washed out but Melanie Cumber-Roddam the owner is certainly not
down or out. She is still operating her design company with her partner and
web designer Neil Martin. “I have been very lucky after the hurricane,
although the office is damaged I can still work and my home is hardly damaged
