Controversy over debris contract deepens
The controversy surrounding the contract
awarded to MC Restoration for the removal of debris brought about by Hurricane
Ivan on Grand Cayman, is deepening. More people are expressing concerns about the only recently formed, US owned MC Restoration and the objections raised by the locally owned Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Operators Association (HEAVO),
as the details of the multi-million-dollar contract, are not yet made known...

Escaped prisoner Manderson makes attempt to flee
After escaping Northward Prison and being on the run in Grand Cayman for two months, convicted murderer Steve Manderson has, according to the Royal Cayman Islands Police (RCIP),
endeavoured to flee to an unknown country. The RCIP described Manderson as
“very resourceful,” and added that there are enough indications to suggest that
he has attempted to leave national territory...

Derelict vehicles to be tagged and removed
Over the next few weeks, the Vehicle Licensing Department
intends to begin removing and disposing of unclaimed derelict vehicles left on
