PPM wants inquiry
The
Opposition Peoples Progressive Movement (PPM) has said although it welcomes the
Auditor General’s inquiry into the $10.7 million debris removal contract awarded
to American owned company MC Restoration, there is a need for a Commission of
Inquiry. The PPM is worried that the scope of the Auditor’s inquiry is
limited and will likely only address whether the correct procedures were

Duty concessions extended for another six months
In a radio address on Tuesday, the Hon McKeeva Bush, Leader
of Government Business and Minister of Tourism, Environment, Development and
Commerce, announced that the Cabinet has decided to extend the duty reduction
of 50 percent on building materials, furniture, appliances and fixtures for an
additional six months. The Government has also decided to allow a
complete waiver of duty on truck chassis...
