Cayman General recapitalises through Cayman National
President
and CEO of Cayman General Insurance, Danny A Scott, said he, “doesn’t have time
to play games with AM Best,” the ratings company, which downgraded the insurance
firm from an A- to a B- rating. “Every year for six years, AM Best said our management was capable and had the capital to meet its liabilities,” said Mr Scott. “Now there is a hurricane, and it is time to do the business of helping clients and handling claims.”... read

Cingular Wireless Cayman launches text messaging
Cingular Wireless kicked off the New Year by expanding the
company’s text messaging services. Customers can now send texts to all mobile
phones within the Cayman Islands. “We are very excited to be offering
our customers a complete text messaging product that allows them to send and
receive text messages from friends and family in the Cayman Islands regardless
