New alliance to fight in capital
The
political landscape for Election 2005 in May, has taken a dramatic step, with
the announcement of a newly formed alliance headed by the Hon Linford Pierson, a
32-year public servant who has served 16 years in the civil service and another
16 years as a member of the Legislative Assembly.
The People’s Democratic Alliance, (PDA) is a group of independent candidates who
will be fighting for seats in George Town..

Art@governors 2005 bigger and better
On
Saturday 29 January, the gates of Government House were again open to members of
the public, who came to see Art@governors an annual art event attended by HE the
Governor, Bruce Dinwiddy, and his wife, Emma.
The event displayed the artwork of over 102 local artists, as well as stalls
from voluntary organizations. Art@Governors is
organized by the National Gallery and sponsored by Walkers...

Cubans are still coming to Cayman
Cuban
migrants continue to head for Cayman shores, despite attempts by both Cayman
and Honduran governments to halt the flow of migrants stopping at these two
countries on their way to the US. Thirteen
Cuban migrants, who landed on Cayman Brac last Sunday evening 30 January,
attempted to continue their journey, but made it only a few miles before
running onto the iron shore...

Spotts dump-site dispute heading for the courts

on-going dispute between the government and the residents living near the area
in Spotts recently used as a temporary dumpsite for debris clearance, appears

Bodden Town candidates keep up the rebuilding
The
People’s Progressive Movement’s (PPM) Bodden Town candidates, Osbourne Bodden,
Charles Clifford and Anthony Eden, continued their efforts last weekend, to
repair damaged homes and assist with the clean-up efforts in Bodden Town, in
partnership with sponsors and contractors.
