Prison Officers visit from Bermuda and Jamaica
Director of Prisons Dwight Scott said he was delighted
to have 52 prison officers from Jamaica and 16 from
Bermuda visiting the Cayman Islands on their arrival in George Town on Tuesday 2
February. The prison officers’ meet is expected to end
with a family fun day on Saturday 5 February. The local prison chief also
revealed that some of the officers from Bermuda will be on attachment at
Northward Prison while here...

Police detectives appeal to the public
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Cayman Islands’ Police Services (RCIPS)
are appealing to the public to come forward with whatever information they may
have relating to a case of sexual assault that occurred earlier this year.
The sexual offence is said to have been committed on Tuesday 4 January along
the Boggy Sands Road in West Bay just after 2:00 am...

Mac hits out at the Chamber

has written to the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce complaining about an
article, which, appeared in the latest edition of the Chamber’s newsletter
regarding operations at the Port. In his letter Mr Bush said that while
the article “purports to address, ‘What businesses can do to help,” he accuses

Port Authority pulls out all the stops to deal with backlog

Caymanian of the Week - Ernest E Ebanks

With both his father and uncle working
in auto mechanics, Ernest E Ebanks was inspired to go into a similar profession.
And for 25 years he has worked as an auto and truck supervisor for the
Department of Vehicle and Equipment Services. “I really enjoy the
