Although Wayne DaCosta
had planned to open Cayman’s first ever Renault Dealership in October 2004, Ivan

Temporary permits double post-Ivan
As of 31 January, there were 7,289 temporary work permit holders, more than double the pre-Ivan figure of 3,415 temporary work permit holders.
By comparison annual permit holders decreased by nine percent from 15,287 on 11
September to 12,852 as of 31 January...

Real life run for Deloitte’s disaster recovery center

As the new location for Deloitte Disaster Recovery Centre, the Citrus Grove Building provided a hurricane shelter for 120 of Deloitte’s staff and their families.
“It was a surreal experience, because we were cushioned from the event given the
structure of the building,” said Mike Edge, Deloitte Manager of Enterprise Risk

Labour force survey shows impact post-Ivan
The
Labour Force Survey conducted in November 2004 has shown that Hurricane Ivan
caused an overall significant decrease in the Islands’ population but it has
also revealed that the storm’s impact on Grand Cayman’s workforce was not as

Pines Retirement Home gets US$1m
Many
people suffered the wrath of Ivan but residents of The Pines had more than their
fair share of loss as a result of the hurricane’s impact. Many local
organisations, services, charities and local business have raised funds and made
donations in the last few months and now, Maples Foundation, the charitable
organization established by Maples and Calder has given the Pines a US$1m
