Government paid double for West Bay port land
The
Port Authority of the Cayman Islands has paid some CI$650,000 for a parcel of
land in West Bay for use in connection with the proposed new cruise terminal in
that District. The price paid, however, was reportedly more than double the fair
market value of the land in question. Research by Cayman Net News has
confirmed that the Port Authority held a meeting in April 2004 to discuss the
acquisition of the subject property...

Brac BPW Club helps college students
The Cayman Brac Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW)
is holding a Country and Western Night to raise funds to help women in the
community. One of their main expenses is to support female college
students from Cayman Brac by sending them a small stipend each month and writing
letters of encouragement. They are currently helping around 18 students, and
have assisted as many as 26 in past years...

MC Restoration denies allegations filed with US Justice Dept

recent report filed with the US Justice Department accusing MC Restoration of
possible breaches of US law has been vehemently denied by the principals of
the company that was awarded the contract to clean up Grand Cayman after the
