Brac power makes $10m investment

Cayman Brac Power and Light Company (CBP&L), the only power company on the Sister Islands, is investing in the region of US$10 million in a new plant on the Bluff. Where will all the debris go?

Although CIRO (Cayman Islands Recovery Operation) have indicated that the 300, 000 square yards already collected by MC Restoration is to be moved from the various locations where it is now to the central location in Frank Sound for processing, the removal of the remaining debris is still in question.  MC Restoration reached their targeted 300,000 sq yards of debris at the end of February... read more...

Speeding tickets are now way ahead of all other road traffic offences

Speeding offences still outnumber any others on the list of traffic tickets in any given week. Person of the Day - Adalid Puerto

Originally from the Bay Islands in Honduras, his work as a food service supervisor at Mcdonalds’ for two years has convinced Adalid Puerto to open his own restaurant one day. “Right after the hurricane, we were cooking food for hundreds of people and we worked some long hours but I loved it,” he said.  Mr Puerto doesn’t get many opportunities to visit his wife, Marla, and two sons Cobun, 7 and Robin, 4 so he gets homesick... read more...
