Dr the Hon Frank McField, Government
Minister in charge of prisons said the recent wave of violence in the Cayman
Islands is not spontaneous but highly-organised crime which is extremely
violent. “The criminal activity we have seen over the past weeks is
indicative of a power struggle between these criminal professionals, and in one
sense we can almost be thankful that the problem is not sourced in the wider
society"....

Cayman National stock price plummets 25 percent

Cayman National Corporation (CNC) stock price dropped by 25 percent recently, after reports that the directors were allegedly coerced to sign and publish a letter endorsing the Leader of Business Government, Hon McKeeva

Boat hits reef but Cubans struggle on
Two
more groups of Cuban migrants arrived in the Sister Islands last weekend.
Nineteen of them now remain on Cayman Brac, but seven more continued on their
journey. The first group, which arrived off Cayman Brac last Friday 1
April, elected to continue on their way that evening, according to District
Commissioner Kenny Ryan. He said that, unfortunately, the group ended up

Person of the Day - Heidi Hunte

Working with the Secretary of the Education Council for the last two years has inspired Heidi Hunte to pursue a human resources and labour studies degree in the US this fall, and she is a little nervous about moving to Miami. “Originally, I wanted to pursue psychology, but I found this, (Human Resources) is also a good way to help people,” she said.
