Cuban family seeks asylum
Family members of Cuban refugee Juan Jose Haber Guerra, arrived in Grand
Cayman from New York on Sunday evening to meet with lawyers and help him apply
for political asylum. They also hope the Chief Immigration Officer will grant
them permission to visit Mr Guerra in Northward. Mr Guerra’s aunt, Teresa Riba Guerra and cousin, Jose Riba,
were scheduled to meet with lawyers at Walkers on Tuesday, 17 May...

Snorkeller loses arm in accident

George Town harbour was the scene of a terrible accident at the weekend
when a snorkeller lost an arm in a horrific accident on Saturday afternoon.
Philip Haberlen, a 56-year-old grocery store manager from Greensburg,
Pennsylvania, was eight days into his holiday on Grand Cayman when tragedy
struck in the sea behind Rackhams pub. A weekend-long wakeboarding event

Cayman Friends welcome change of Government

It is not just Caymanian voters that are reportedly breathing sighs of
relief with last week’s change in Government. Ex-pats and friends of

Person of the Day - Michella Ebanks

Although she has only recently come to
George Town from Cayman Brac, Michella Ebanks has already made plenty of
friends. “I like hanging out with my friends; I play tennis and I dance. I like
