Carlos Powery Ebanks claims he was arrested by the Cuban State Security in
1980 and spent the next ten years as a political prisoner inside Cuban jails. Mr Ebanks told

Patrol boats needed to catch ganja smugglers
According to Drugs Task Force (DTF) Inspector Shaun Ebanks, one drug haul
in two and a half months is not where the targets of the DTF are set and he
believes with a little more help he can up the hauls dramatically helping law
enforcement get an edge in the so called ‘War on Drugs.’ Mr Ebanks, in fact,
has his sights set on the possibility of eight or even twelve times as many drug

Baby’s fight for life needs support
Carlisea Gilzene is a Jamaican national who gave birth to a 24 week old
baby whose birth weight was only 1lb. 7oz, on 29 July. The infant’s name is
Jo-Anna Gilzene and she is still in intensive care. The doctors would like to have the baby transferred to Miami but the
mother’s insurance will not cover the cost. Public hospitals in Jamaica do not
have sufficient nursing staff or in this case the equipment to monitor the baby...
