First Pension Case in Court
Pre-trial hearings were due to start this week with the
first case of an employer not paying staff pension contributions. Scott Henderson owner of Cayman Flooring and Kitchen
Specialists appeared in court on 16 August before Magistrate Grace Donalds, but
the hearing was adjourned until 8 September because Mr Henderson’s attorney,

Troope fighting fires and saving lives
It has been just 15 months since Shakira Troope, 28, joined the Fire
Services. After high school, she had tried a number of jobs including working
in the hospitality industry, but none of the roles felt quite right. Ms Troope
wanted to work with her hands so she worked as a carpenter’s helper for a year,

Police HQ to get colourful new look
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) Headquarters, located in
George Town, is to undergo renovations. Work on the building is scheduled to
start in October. The changes to the building – its interior and exterior facilities – have
