Death of Dimitri Under Suspicion
Known to many people in the Cayman Islands because of his numerous business
interests here, accountant and businessman, Dimitri Pappas, was discovered
dead in Bermuda on 20 July, found hanging in a clothes closet in a hotel room. Dimitri
was known to have many connections here with numerous high profile business
developments and people in the former Government administration...

Summer camp hosts 400 children
More than 400 children have been participating in the two-week summer
camps, sponsored by the Community Development Unit around the Islands. One
summer camp hosted in West Bay went from 1 through to the 12 August and camps
in George Town and East End started on 15 August and will last through until
26 August. Activities for summer camp include swimming lessons, crafts and

Taxi drivers still wait on fare review
Even though taxi tour operators’ rate increases are to finally be addressed
on 24 August at a meeting of the Public Transport Board (PTB), the drivers
will still have to wait even longer before any additional cash reaches their
pockets. The wait will add to what has been a series of delays with respect to the

Businessman Bobby Bodden has taken control of the Chairmanship of Cayman
Airways’ Board along with a new team of members that have a mandate to turn

Although she has been a waitress at the Brac Reef Beach Resort for almost
seventeen years, Jackie Dunkley is far from tired of her work.
