Hotel on probation for Sunday dancing
The liquor license for Sammy’s Airport Inn is on
probation until it comes up for a review again at the next meeting in December
following a complaint from a private citizen. During the liquor licensing
meeting, it was noted the woman lodging the complaint did not live or work in
the area nor was she a patron of Sammy’s. The complaint included loud music

More drugs seized
Anti-crime operatives in the Cayman Islands have seized
yet another significant quantity of illegal drugs. This latest haul, described as very large quantity, was
discovered on the morning of 20 September 2005 in a 40-foot container sitting

Police claim victory over sentences on recent convictions
Two people convicted of attempted murder in the courts
recently were sentenced for 18 and 15 years, respectively, and the Royal
Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is claiming this as a commendable
accomplishment. The Service has in the past complained that the courts
undermine their efforts to fight crime because of inadequate sentencing that
results in criminals returning to the streets...
