Ivan cars start ‘long boat to China’
With thousands of cars damaged by Hurricane Ivan, dealing
with them has been something of a headache. Finally however the first of
several shipments of crushed cars, that suffered in the ravages of the

Team to evaluate permit system
Although the Immigration Work Permit Board said it is
catching up on new work permit grants, there is still a backlog of thousands
of renewals, highlighting the problem with the current manual system and
illustrating the dire need for modernization. The Chairman of the Work Permit Board David Ritch

The Director of Tourism going in to bat for the Sister Islands
Sister Islands Tourism Association (SITA) President Max
Hillier believes that the Department of Tourism (DoT) is doing a fine job of
refocusing SITA and the Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA). “DoT has come on board a lot more aggressively,” he said.
“I’m very happy with the direction they seem to be taking (with regards to
promoting the Sister Islands). Plus the Ministry is bringing SITA to the

Brac office for Net News

Cayman Net News and is breaking new ground yet again
with the opening of an office on Cayman Brac, the first print media house to do
so. The office on the Brac will be the headquarters for
Sister Islands’ news reporting for the daily paper, and also the Sister
