Attorney General hires crime expert
With five-years as chief of the National Task Force on Crime Prevention in Barbados, Yolande
C Ford, a consultant criminologist, is now on assignment in the Cayman Islands
to study the causes of crime. According to Attorney General, Hon Sam Bulgin, Ms Forde’s
assignment is to conduct “empirical and seminal research” on crime here and

Against Substance Abuse has invited a team of six people from Youth to Youth, a
group based in Columbus, Ohio, to facilitate their Annual National Youth
Conference. The conference, entitled, “Too Good for Drugs and Violence,”

New crime bills set to expand already growing prison population

in relation to bail, evidence, the penal code, firearms, police powers and
prison terms are set for change and draft bills are now in place to begin this
process. Aimed at combating serious crime the measures are all about
taking criminals off the streets at an earlier stage for longer periods of

Lions and Leos get together for induction
