Late night police raid for $20 ticket
The Police Commissioner Stuart Kernohan
is reportedly concerned over an incident involving armed officers who raided a
house late at night because of an outstanding parking ticket. The 11:00 pm raid was a demand-for-arrest visit from four, allegedly armed, police officers, to the home of a woman who said she “forgot to pay a parking fine.”

A warm welcome
Cayman’s new Governor Designate, Stuart Jack, CVO,
and his wife, Mariko arrive at Owen Roberts International Airport to an
official greeting by the Guard of Honour on the tarmac. Mr & Mrs Jack arrived
from Miami on Wednesday 23 November and Mr Jack was sworn in later that
afternoon in the Legislative Assembly. Disembarking from a Cayman

‘New captain same crooks’ says resident
A crowded room of West Bayers welcomed new Police Commissioner, Stuart Kernohan,
to his post and expressed appreciation for some policing changes already seen in
the district, but they also told him that resolutions to old issues such as
gangs and drug crimes were still outstanding. Residents asked the
Commissioner why no move had yet been made on the four gangs with its total of

Immigration overhaul needed says Chairman of Work Permit Board

to the Chairman of the Work Permit Board (WPB) the Cayman Islands’ immigration

Jamaicans fear being denied entry while permits are processed
A number of Jamaicans whose work permits are up for renewal are fearful that if
they leave the Island during the forth- coming holiday period they might not be
allowed to return. However, the Immigration Department has said that it
would issue re-entry stamps to persons who are renewing their work permits and
want to leave the Cayman Islands...
