Jamaica gets Dyoll cash
The Jamaican Courts have reportedly ruled on the funds held in that country from the bankrupt Dyoll Insurance firm in Jamaica’s
favour. The Financial Services Commission in Jamaica applied to the courts there
in October to keep the US$6 million for Jamaican creditors and to prevent it
from being put in the pool of funds to be distributed to all creditors,
including policyholders in the Cayman Islands...

No guarantees on work permits
Jamaicans who are working on temporary work permits have no guarantee that they will be granted annual permits on application and given the opportunity to work here on a long term basis.
