Police in Pursuit
An Intelligence-led, 32-man Royal Cayman Islands Police
Service (RCIPS), operation hit the ground last Saturday night at a popular
George Town Night Club and six people were taken into custody for breaking the
law. Three Caymanians and three expatriates were arrested for
drugs, weapons and work-permit-related offences. This significant catch of criminals in one operation

Three beauty pageants in one, The Glamorous Granny,
Fuller Figure, and Modern Miss, all took place at the Lions Center on Saturday
26 November. Kole Porter, Master of Ceremonies for the evening, from
radio station Hot 104.1 FM, introduced the contestants, dressed in the most
stylish casual wear, from each of the three pageants, as they came onstage one

Sunday trading law to be reviewed but music and dancing restrictions remain
News that the Sunday Trading Law would be reviewed came
at the same time that liquor-licensed operators were once again told that the
law in relation to the closing time of their operations on Saturdays would not
be changed in consideration of the fact that New Year’s Eve 2005 falls on a

Sustainable living model for Sister Islands
The Government announced last week that it is now on a
mission to pin down a template for sustainable development for Cayman Brac and
Little Cayman. According to Leader of Government Business, Hon Kurt
Tibbetts, all previous efforts to do this were “aborted attempts.” He added
that it is now an appropriate time to recommence the exercise as there are signs
of development on the Bluff and in other areas on the Islands...
