‘Expect more, get more’ says phone company
Local telecommunications provider, Digicel which is
rapidly spreading through the region, has launched its WiMAX broadband
wireless service in the Cayman Islands with plans to extend the offer to
Barbados and Jamaica shortly. The company, through the launch on Tuesday 6 December,
became the first GSM mobile supplier to provide that service to the Caribbean

Court’s decision over Dyoll funds causes ripples through insurance sector
Questions have been raised over how foreign insurance
companies will do business in the Cayman Islands in the future after the
Jamaican Supreme Court’s decision to shut out Cayman policyholders of
potentially US$6.2 million in deposits from the insolvent Dyoll Insurance
company. Out of the 8000 Dyoll policyholders, 2800 reside in Jamaica with 5200

Helping people is the main thing in Vinola Ebanks’ life.
“If I know about who’s in need, I do something about it,” says Ms Ebanks, who
