Spotts verified as 2nd dock

The Cayman Islands Government and the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) are fine-tuning an agreement, which will see the Spotts dock being developed into a second string cruise ship facility shortly.  Tourism Minister Hon Charles Clifford said that lawyers for the Port Authority and the FCCA have been working on the agreement, which would virtually derail the previous Government’s plan ... read more...


Security companies to be investigated

The Labour Tribunal has refused to accept any more applications to waive overtime pay for security companies. Weekend escape of Cubans solved

The 15 Cubans that escaped from a holding facility near the Fairbanks prison last Friday night on 7 January, did so through a boarded area on the compound according to Chief Immigration Officer Franz Manderson. 
Sections of the compound were boarded up to house what were described as “immigrants who were not given leave to land.”  All 15 were placed back into custody in a more secure facility.

Person of the Day - Shelly-Ann Jones
