Exploited workers ‘deported’
The
four workers from the Dominican Republic who had filed complaints of
exploitation against their employer are claiming they were deported to Cuba on
Wednesday, 18 January. However, the Chief Immigration Officer, Franz Manderson,
denied they were deported as this is a legal term, which is put in force by
Cabinet, but rather they were arrested and put on a plane to leave the country ...

Mission House restoration project
A project to rebuild a valuable part of Cayman’s historical heritage, the old Mission House at the end of Gun Square Road in Bodden Town, got underway on Tuesday 17 January with the signing of the contract between the National Trust for the Cayman Islands and the contractor for the project, Boosie

Taxi
and Tour Bus Drivers in the Cayman Islands have been given an ultimatum about
threatening to strike or staging strike threats by the Tourism Minister.
They have been warned that if they threaten to disrupt the industry and the
