Government educating future managers
In
a bid to have more Caymanians in management positions in the hospitality
sector, the Government says it is establishing a Tourism Apprenticeship
Programme next year to supplement its ongoing scholarship scheme.

Convicts remain free as no room in prison
With HMP
Northward at full capacity there are convicted persons walking the streets on
bail waiting until space is available in the country’s prison in order to serve
out the sentences handed down to them by the courts. Director of Prison
Service, Dwight Scott, told Cayman Net News the prison population is over
the certified capacity of 165 by 18. As a result of new bills more persons

Cuban migrants face problems seeking political asylum

Cuban national living in Canada has claimed that some of his friends and
relatives currently detained in Grand Cayman have not been given forms to
claim political asylum, despite the fact that they left Cuba in fear of their
