the People’s Progressive Party (PPM) Government says it has made “considerable

Indigenous plant research targeting diabetes
St
Matthew’s University is currently conducting research on plants found only in
the Cayman Islands, which may improve treatments or even find the cure to
diabetes. The medical school is also collaborating with the Health Services Authority (HSA)
on a new medical research programme to find better ways to treat chronic
problems such as hypertension, heart attacks and strokes...

CITA requests short-term waiver on fixed term policy
The Cayman Islands Tourist Association (CITA)
has asked the Cabinet and the Immigration Review Team for a short-term
reprieve for numerous key employees who are on their last work permit under
the seven-year fixed term policy until the new amendments can be put in place. The president of CITA, Karie

examined by the Government, where fees could be increased to raise the $25
million need for this year, with minimum impact on the public, Government
