Indigenous plant research targeting diabetes

St Matthew’s University is currently conducting research on plants found only in the Cayman Islands, which may improve treatments or even find the cure to diabetes.  The medical school is also collaborating with the Health Services Authority (HSA) on a new medical research programme to find better ways to treat chronic problems such as hypertension, heart attacks and strokes... read more...


CITA requests short-term waiver on fixed term policy

Government looks for $25 million

A list of revenue sources is now being examined by the Government, where fees could be increased to raise the $25 million need for this year, with minimum impact on the public, Government Information Services said.  The Government said that some fees and charges are constantly adjusted, but others have remained the same for as long as 27 years... read more...
