Teachers face dilemma
There
are 10 schools in the Private School Association and they are all facing the
same issue of potentially losing teachers when they reach the seven-term limit
if they do not receive exemptions. Even if all private school teachers
do receive them however, and become eligible for permanent residency, private
school teachers are lumped into the same professional status as attorneys and
lawyers

St Matthew’s students in beach cleanup
Students
from St Matthew’s University did their bit for the community and the
environment by taking part in a Beach Clean-up along Seven Mile Beach around
Calico Jack’s on Monday 13 February. Neeraj Singh, a medical student from New Jersey, said, “We want to help the community, that is why we are here, cleaning up the trash.”

Dr Luis Luarca, the Cuban refugee who is on hunger strike in front of the Glass House in George Town, said that X107.1FM, a subsidiary of dms
Broadcasting, which has been running skits on its morning programme making fun
of his situation, is going too far. Dr Luarca began his hunger strike on
30 January to protest human rights abuse in the Cayman Islands and in Cuba...

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) named the man found dead in the Sea at East End last week as 38-year-old Donald Ross Montain,
